We wish to draw your attention to the fact, that you can have a look at our previous updates of News back to August 2, 2010. You can go directly to Previous updates or then on the navigation on the left at News.  

As per our update of April 20, 2012 we offered the New Issues from Nr. 500 Central African Republic - Central Chimpanzee. And of course all the previous issues 2002 from Nr. 495 South Georgia to Nr. 499 Rarotonga are still available at the new issues prices.

The next issues will be from Fiji, Collared Lory and Kiribati, Giant Trevally which will be taken up in our update of approx. mid June. In the meantime we have also signed a contract for an issue from Congo Kinshasa, Solomon Islands and Uganda. We will inform about additional issues as soon as the contract is signed.

At the time of issue last year, we did not take up an offer, since there is no Panda Logo on the stamp, but we had many requests from dealers and collectors and therefore we now are able to deliver and orders can be made on our Webshop or by e-mail to hans.groth@groth.ch.

The WWF Stamp Collection will be represented by Puma Stamps at booth 10. They will have a new WWF Catalogue for sale, to which Groth AG has given the authorization. The basic issue was on February 16, 1987 and a reprint on October 16, 1988. We had questions from collectors about the difference. The only difference is the Watermark.

There was a not authorized issues with the Bonobo with the WWF Panda Logo, that is offered at www.delcampe.net. Mini Sheet with 8 stamps, 8 De Luxe Sheets with one stamps and also Souvenir Sheets with tab. We will definitely not take up this issue in our Catalogue, even not as Special Issues. We leave if up to readers to purchase these items, even though we recommend not to do so.

We plan the next update by approximately mid June 2012.

Nr. 500 Central African Republic - Central Chimpanzee
This is the issue Nr. 500 of the Official WWF Stamps issued from May 1983 to April 2012. The issue date is April 25, 2012 and the printing will be 1 Mini Sheet with 2 sets, 1 Mini Sheet with 4 sets and 1 Souvenir Sheet. We will deliver the mint set as a block of 4 from the Mini Sheet of 2 sets, since this is what we will take up on our Album Pages.

We furthermore inform you, that the issue date of Nr. 499 Rarotonga has been changed from March 25 to April 11, 2012.

As per the list published on our update of April 3, 2012. We are close to an agreement with several Postal Administrations for further issues for the year 2012 and will inform as we have the definite agreement.

Nr. 500 Central African Republic, Central Chimpanzee
As for most of the African countries, the Postal Administration of Central Africa has issued 1 Souvenir Sheet imperforated, 1 Mini Sheet with 2 sets and 1 Mini Sheet with 4 sets. Also here we will deliver as the set imperforated a block of 4 from the Mini Sheet with 2 sets. Furthermore 1 De Luxe Sheet combo and 4 De Luxe Sheets singles. There will be a first on the De Luxe Sheets. The WWF Panda Logo will be with transparent phosphorus paint and will glow in the dark.

This is the new Buying List valid as from April 20, 2012. We are mostly looking for Mini Sheets of the Official Issues, WWF Gutter Pairs and Blocks as well as Special Issues. Urgently needed with a new buying price: Nr. 148 St. Helena 1993 Wire Bird, Set mint and we pay CHF 10.00. Please go to Buying List.

So far we had the list of Previous updates at the end of the News. The updates August to December 2010, January to December 2011 and January to March 2012 can now be downloaded at the navigation on the left at Download, Previous updates.

Many countries, especially from the British Commonwealth issue the 4 sheets of 50 stamps with gutters. In some instances also in 4 sheets of 20 stamps. In fact, the gutters are taken up, so that Stamp Booklets can be produced. However, since many of the leading printing houses are used to this format of sheets and even include gutters if there is no plan to make stamp booklets.

Our reader Lars-Erik Wikberg of Sweden has now suggested, that also the following Mini Sheets with 2 sets should be taken up as gutters. Nr. 451 Mozambique, Nr. 453 Togo, Nr. 462 Croatia post Mostar, Nr. 466 Guinea-Bissau and Nr. 483 Angola. In fact it could be an option, but since these Mini Sheets were definitely not planned to produce Stamp Booklets, these issues should in my opinion not be defined as gutters.
